The Elektro-Automatik PS 9360-30 1U Single Output Programmable DC Power Supply, 360V/30A, 3000W, 1U Rack offers many functions and features in a flat design, with a height of just 44 mm (1.75 in.). Its clearly arranged control panel has two rotary knobs, six push-buttons and two LEDs, while all values and statuses are illuminated on its blue LCD display.
The user can continuously adjust current, voltage and power between 0% and 100%, either manually or remotely (analog or digital). The output terminals are located on the front side of the PS 9360-30 1U unit.
The EA-PS 9360-30 1U covers a wide range of applications and uses. It is equipped with a flexible auto-ranging output stage - which provides higher output voltages at lower output currents, or higher output currents at lower output voltages - and is always limited to the adjustable power set value, or the rated power.
The PS 9360-30 1U has a rated output voltage of 360 V and includes a discharge circuit for the output capacities. For no load or low load situations, it ensures that the dangerous output voltage sinks under 60 V DC after the DC output has been switched off. This value is considered the limit for voltages that are dangerous to human safety.
To protect connected equipment, the user can set an overvoltage protection threshold (OVP), as well as one for overcurrent (OCP) and overpower (OPP). As soon as one of these thresholds is reached, the unit's DC output will immediately be shut off and a status signal will be generated on the display. The PS 9360-30 1U also features overtemperature protection (OTP), which will shut off the DC output if the device overheats.
All of the PS 9360-30 1U's important information is clearly visualized on a dot matrix display. With this display, the user can easily read information about the actual output values and set values of voltage and current; the actual control state (CV, CC, CP, and other statuses); and setup menu alarms and settings. To make it easier to adjust values with the rotary knobs, the user can push them to switch between decimal positions. With the panel lock feature, the entire device panel can be locked, in order to protect both equipment and loads from unintentional misuse.
There is a galvanically isolated analog interface terminal, which is located on the rear of the PS 9360-30 1U device. It offers analog inputs to set voltage, current and power from 0 to 100%, through control voltages of 0 V to 10 V, or 0 V to 5 V. To monitor the output voltage and current, there are analog outputs with voltage ranges of 0 V to 10 V or 0 V to 5 V. Also, several inputs and outputs are available for controlling and monitoring the device status.
The PS 9360-30 1U also features two galvanically isolated, digital interfaces (USB and Ethernet). Both can be used to control and monitor the devices with SCPI language commands or ModBus RTU protocol. Remote control of a device can be done either by the included EA Power Control software, or by a custom application - which is supported by programming documentation, as well as LabView Virtual Instruments (VIs).
