Fieldpiece S365
Charging Jacket for TXV Systems, 37°F to 70°F Outside Temperature
The Fieldpiece S365 Charging Jacket offers a reliable way to charge TXV systems when ambient temperatures outside are between 37 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This unit offers HVACR technicians the ability to conduct service work during the slow season when the weather is colder.
- Works to bring pressure across system drop to 160 psi
- Fast operation of 15 minute pressure stabilization period before charging system
- Parachute-grade material construction
- Reliably charges TXV systems in cold weather
- Charges TXV systems from 37°F to 70°F outside
- Works to bring pressure across system drop to 160 psi
- Attached to top of split TXV system with hooks to avoid restricting air inlet
- Adjustable drawstring for high/low side pressure stabilization
- Fast operation of 15 minute pressure stabilization period before charging system
- Easy to adjust for reaching correct pressure differential
- Field tested for accuracy
- Extends billable hours for HVACR technicians to install/service/charge TXV systems
- Enables service maintenance contract work before/after summer heat
- Great way to increase business during slow season
- More professional appearance than cardboard/trash bags
- Parachute-grade material construction
The Fieldpiece S365 Charging Jacket offers a reliable way to charge TXV systems when ambient temperatures outside are between 37 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Typically, HVACR technicians cannot charge a cooling system in cold weather as the cold temperature removes too much heat from the condenser coils. The S365 solves this problem along with presenting a more professional look than needing to use trash bags or cardboard as jackets over systems to heat them up. This unit offers a way for technicians to increase the amount of time in a year that they are able to install, service, and charge TXV systems.
Made from parachute-grade material, the S365 is attached to the top of a split TXV system with hooks so that the air inlet is not restricted. Then, when the unit is turned on, the jacket puffs up from the air being forced out of the air outlet. The S365 works by restricting the fan outlet of the condenser which raises the temperature within the condenser. This is a more effective method than blocking the incoming air to the condenser oil. The top is then adjusted with a drawstring until the proper pressure differential is reached between the high and low side. Once the systems stabilizes for 15 minutes at the correct pressure differential, the system is ready to be charged.
The problem with other methods of covering the TXV systems is that they are highly inaccurate. The S365 offers a highly accurate way to heat up these systems and works to bring the pressure drop across the system to at least 160 psi for a similar effect on the system as higher temperatures would have. With the S365, HVACR technicians can now extend their billable hours for being able to work during the off season. Instead of needing to do service check-ups during the summer rush, service and maintenance work can start early in the spring and continue late into the fall.
