The Fluke Calibration 9938-V5-NS (5437493) MET/TEMP II Temperature Calibration Software enables the user to easily automate the calibration on a wide range of temperature sensors. This software provides a comprehensive temperature calibration solution for testing batches of sensors, calculating characterization coefficients, and printing calibration reports. The user can standardize comparison or fixed point calibrations along with using multiple temperature sources or references in a single test.
Version 5.2 updates the software by offering compatibility with the Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 operating systems. Furthermore, support for the 6109A and 7109A Portable Calibration Baths, 1586A Super-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner, and multiple COM ports without a SmartSwitch are now included.
Fully Automated, Consistent Sensor Calibration
The 9938-V5-NS fully automates batch calibrations of the user's platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs), thermistor, and thermocouple sensors which frees up time for more important tasks. The user can be confident that results are consistent no matter who performs the job since the software monitors and controls the calibration process.
Test a Broad Workload of Temperature Sensors
The 9938-V5-NS handles a wide range of temperature sensors. This software can calibrate thermocouples, RTDs, SPRTs, thermistors, liquid-in-glass (LIG) bi-metallic thermometers, and connected sensors that cannot be attached to a readout. Virtually any sensor with a resistance or voltage output can be tested with a capacity of up to 100 sensors at a time. These sensors do not have to be the same type for simultaneous testing. The user can select up to 40 temperature points for testing their sensors.
Multiply Lab Productivity
Manual temperature sensor calibration is prone to errors and extremely time consuming. This manual process takes roughly four hours to calibrate a sensor at three points, then another hour for paperwork to document the temperature data and to create the certificate. Additionally, the results may vary depending on the technician doing the calibration.
With the 9938-V5-NS software, simply place the test sensors in a heat source, connect them to a temperature readout, enter the setup information, and start the test. Later print out the reports, sign them, and ship the sensors back to the customer for a fast turnaround. Rather than spending hours handling temperature sensor calibration manually, the 9938-V5-NS allows for consistent and repeatable measurements in just minutes.
Proven, Trusted Calibration Software
The 9938-V5-NS is an updated version of trusted, well-known software that easily connects to the user's Fluke Calibration equipment. This software is trusted by hundred of customers worldwide for use in calibration labs. The version 5.2 update maintains the structure and work flow with added improvements.
Easy to Learn, Easy to Use
The 9938-V5-NS's user interface guides the user through configuring and running a calibration test, calculating sensor coefficients, and preparing a report of calibration. Calibration professionals of all levels can easily learn and benefit from the time saving features of this software.
Choice of Calibration Method-- Comparison, Fixed-Point, or Mixed
The user may calibrate most of their secondary standard sensors against a reference sensor or against calibrated heat sources. For users who need a higher level of accuracy than what comparison calibration can give them, the 9938-V5-NS is the solution. The 9938-V5-NS software can calibrate the user's secondary standard or primary standard sensors using fixed-point cells. The software also lets the user combine comparison and fixed-point cell measurements during the same calibration. A triple-point of water measurement before or after comparison points can also be conducted.
Heat Source Calibrations
Additionally, the 9938-V5-NS software can perform heat source calibrations for Fluke Calibration Dry-Wells and Micro-Baths (not included).
Support for Many Test Equipment Configurations
Calibrations can be performed using a variety of digital thermometer readouts-- from handhelds to high-precision bench-top models (not included). An assortment of heat sources including dry-wells, Metrology Wells, Micro Baths, calibration baths, and furnaces (not included) can also be used.
Automatically Log Ambient Conditions
The 9938-V5-NS software can log ambient temperature and humidity automatically during calibration using the 1620A 'DewK' Thermo-Hygrometer (not included).
Asset Management
The 9938-V5-NS software maintains all test equipment information and calibration status in a database. Unit Under Test (UUT) sensor information along with customer names and addresses, which are used when printing reports, are also maintained. This software can also export data to be added to a work order in Fluke MET/TEAM (not included).
Coefficient Calculation for Many Sensor Types
The coefficients and tables utility calculates characterization coefficients for PRT, thermistor, and thermocouple probes. The types of coefficients that can be calculated are ITS-90, IPTS-68, Callendar-Van Dusen, and polynomial functions for PRTs, polynomial for thermistors, and coefficients for thermocouple types B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T, and AuPt. Characterization coefficients and test data acquired by the software can be exported to a text file.
Data Quality Check
If concerns about the quality of the data acquired from a questionable sensor arise, the 9938-V5-NS software can help. The coefficients and tables utility calculates residuals at each set-point to give the user an indication of the quality of the data used to characterize the sensor.
Interpolation Tables
After the user has characterized a sensor, they can generate temperature versus resistance, temperature versus ratio, or temperature versus voltage interpolation tables using the calculated characterization coefficients. Interpolation tables can be printed as part of the report of calibration or exported to a delimited ASCII text file for importing into other analysis software.
ANSI/NCSL Compliant Report of Calibration
The 9938-V5-NS software produces reports of calibration that are compliant to ANSI/NCSL Z540.3.
