The Megger MIT1025 (1001-944) Digital/Analog DC Insulation Resistance Tester is a 10 kilovolt model instrument that is ideal for original equipment manufacturers and industrial companies. This model offers a full suite of test modes as well as on-board memory and the ability to stream or download data to a PC or laptop. Instrument productivity is the focus of the MIT1025 in which rapid-charge batteries and operation from an AC source if the batteries are dead is offered. The rapid-charge batteries enables over 60 minutes of testing after a 30 minute charge.
The safety rating is not compromised on the MIT1025 with all terminals safety rated to CAT IV 600V to 3000 meters of altitude. A range of test leads are available for use with this model. Suitably rated high-voltage gloves and other personal protection equipment are required to be worn when testing with this unit.
The MIT1025 features a dual-case design and includes a tough outer case to protect the tester from knocks or drops along with an inner case that is fire-retardant. The IP65 rating when the case is closed works to eliminate moisture and dust ingress.
An intuitive user interface ensures that no time is lost on remembering how to use the tester. Simplicity of operation is achieved with two rotary switches and the large backlight display which enables multiple results to be shown simultaneously. A graphical quick start guide is provided inside the lid to assist first time users.
Five preset ranges are provided in the insulation test mode, along with a user-settable lock voltage range. The preconfigured diagnostic tests include Polarization Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Dielectric Discharge (DD), Step Voltage (SV), and Ramp Test.
Advanced memory storage includes time and date stamping of results, logging of data, and recall of results to the screen. A fully isolated type-B USB device interface is used for safe transfer of data to Megger's PowerDB/Pro, Advanced, and Lite asset management software.
PI Predictor Function (PIp)The Polarization Index test can be time consuming with tests taking up to 30 minutes to complete along with multiple items needing to be tested. The PI Predictor Function (PIp) aids the user in saving precious time. The PIp uses the first part of the IR curve to predict the rest at 5 minutes into the test. This function can start as early as 3 minutes in the test and will stop once it is confident in the prediction.
