The RIDGID 458R Precision Ratcheting Flare Tool forms 45° SAE flares. The built-in reversible ratchet enables easy turning. The hardened steel flaring cone is eccentrically mounted in the needle bearings and produces uniform flare walls without galling. The clutch automatically releases to smooth the flare. It flares steel, stainless steel, hard copper and brass tubing through a wall thickness of 0.035".

The RIDGID 458R (83037) Precision Ratcheting Flare Tool is designed to form 45° SAE flares with minimum effort. A reversible ratchet is built into the feed screw handle, enabling it to turn easily and require less motion and effort than a standard handle. The flare tool is also equipped with a hardened steel flaring cone, which is eccentrically mounted in the needle bearings. The cone produces a rolling action for an even metal flow, resulting in uniform flare walls without galling. A clutch automatically releases to iron and smooth the flare after it is completed.
The 458R Flare Tool will flare steel, stainless steel, hard copper and brass tubing through a wall thickness of 0.035" (0.9 mm).
