The Tektronix TAP1500L 1.5 GHz Single-Ended Active FET Probe is specially designed for use with and offers a direct connection to the oscilloscopes with the TekVPI probe interface. With the use of a Tektronix-recommended DSP filter, the TAP1500L can connect to the 4, 5, and 6-Series Oscilloscopes to provide a bandwidth of over 1.5 gigahertz. The TAP1500L achieves high-speed signal acquisition and measurement fidelity by solving three traditional problems. First, the problem of lower DUT loading effects with less than or equal to one picofarad input capacitance and one megaohm input resistance. Second, the problem of needing versatile DUT connectivity for attaching to small SMDs. Third, the problem of preserving instrument bandwidth at the probe top for less than or equal to one gigahertz oscilloscopes. The TAP1500L provides an excellent high-speed electrical and mechanical performance that is required for today's digital system designs.
The TAP1500L combines an outstanding electrical performance, versatile mechanical performance, and easy-to-use operation into one unit. The small, compact probe head is designed for probing small geometry circuit elements. The DUT attachment accessories enable connection to SMDs as small as a 0.5 millimeter pitch and the robust design of the probe offers added reliability. Users can connect the probe directly to oscilloscopes which feature the TekVPI probe interface in which automatic unit scaling and readout can be viewed on the oscilloscope display. The easy access to the oscilloscope probe menu display shows probe status and diagnostic information along with the ability to control the probe DC offset. Remote GPIB and USB probe control is possible through the oscilloscope.
