The Teledyne FLIR E96 42° + 14°-NIST Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera with Teledyne FLIR Thermal Studio Pro, NIST Calibration, MSX® and UltraMax® Technologies, 42°/14° Lenses, 640 x 480 is our first pistol-grip camera with 640 x 480 thermal resolution so inspectors can survey high-voltage, hazardous targets safely and quickly diagnose electrical and mechanical failures. Interchangeable AutoCal™ lenses offer complete coverage of near and distant targets, with the laser distance meter ensuring the crisp focus needed for accurate temperature measurement, which can be enhanced with patented Teledyne FLIR UltraMax® and MSX® technologies for added detail and perspective.
Building Applications
The Teledyne FLIR E96 can detect even subtle indications of building deficiencies and moisture intrusion, and offers on-screen area measurement, so that you can easily quantify and document air leaks, moisture, and other building problems.
Electrical and Mechanical Applications
The Teledyne FLIR E96 offers the superior resolution and range performance needed to quickly identify hot spots and discover potential points of failure in electrical distribution and mechanical systems. With a higher resolution and a larger, more vibrant LCD screen, the E96 makes it easier than ever to diagnose problems, even at a distance. Avoid costly shutdowns and lost production time through regular predictive maintenance routines with this rugged, intuitive camera.
MSX Technology
Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX) Technology adds visible spectrum definition to IR images by detecting the edges of objects. Text becomes clearly visible so that you can read a label or identifier within the IR image. This exclusive function provides extraordinary thermal detail that instantly highlights and orients problem locations and eliminates the need to refer back to a visual image for detail.
Breaker panel (MSX)
Missing insulation - summer day (MSX)
Warm drain pipe - wall (MSX)
UltraMax Technology
UltraMax is an image enhancement technology in the E96 that captures a series of thermal images and combines the data into one new image. The result is an impressive quadrupling of thermal pixels, including full radiometric measurement data.
As a result, UltraMax thermal images will be clearer and larger, allowing for a better analysis of small details. Because of an increased number of pixels covering the same target area, UltraMax also decreases measurement spot size. This gives greater measurement accuracy to particularly small details. With the new UltraMax feature, users can obtain even better results, allowing them to be even more productive.
UltraMax is a type of superresolution, a technique for combining the information from multiple original images into an image with higher resolution and less noise. This might seem similar to two other scaling techniques - interpolation and pixel averaging. However, they are totally different.
UltraMax uses the natural movement of the human body to capture an image set in which each image is slightly offset from the others. This results in a wealth of data that is much greater than any one image could provide. The data is combined to form an image that includes many more pixels of the target, resulting in a resolution greater than that of the original camera detector. The data is also used to create a clearer image, since pixel noise can be reduced through comparing similar points in multiple images.
Teledyne FLIR UltraMax captures 16 thermal images in less than one second. These are stored on the camera as a single jpg file, and will appear as one image when viewed on the camera or in software. The enhanced image will have twice the original resolution and four times as many pixels. All pixels still include radiometric data, just as with normal Teledyne FLIR thermal images.
As a result, UltraMax thermal images will be clearer and larger, allowing better analysis of small details. Because of an increased number of pixels covering the same target area, UltraMax also decreases measurement spot size. This gives greater measurement accuracy to particularly small details.
Teledyne FLIR AutoCal™ Lenses
The E96 camera is compatible with all interchangeable AutoCal lenses. The camera automatically recognizes when a new lens is attached and launches a wizard to begin auto-calibrating the camera with the lens - no need to send the camera in for service. This helps ensure that the camera always produces high-quality images and precise thermal measurements.
Teledyne FLIR Thermal Studio Software: Fast, Efficient Thermal Analysis and Reporting
Evaluating, editing, organizing, and reporting thermal images are all critical steps in any thermal survey. Being able to perform these tasks quickly and efficiently allows inspectors to spend more time in the field and less time at their desks. The Teledyne FLIR Thermal Studio software suite makes this happen.
This state-of-the-art analysis software is designed to help users manage thousands of thermal images and videos and quickly produce professional reports. Compatible with files from handheld thermal cameras, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and optical gas imaging (OGI) cameras, this software offers the features needed to streamline workflow and increase productivity.
Teledyne FLIR Inspection Route Creator Plugin: More Efficient, Better Organized Inspections
Designed for thermographers who regularly inspect large numbers of objects over the course of a day, Teledyne FLIR Inspection Route guides the user along a pre-defined route of inspection points so that they can collect images and data in a structured manner.
The route begins in Teledyne FLIR Thermal Studio Pro software, where users build their plan using the Route Creator plugin. They can include as many inspection targets as needed and organize them for maximum efficiency. Once the user exports the completed route to the E96 camera, they are ready to begin the day.
The predefined route guides the user's on-site movement to each inspection asset, automatically collecting and organizing saved images for a seamless import into Teledyne FLIR Thermal Studio Pro. By ensuring that nothing is missed and that all inspection results are organized from the start, the suite of Teledyne FLIR inspection software speeds up inspections, improves organization, and simplifies reporting.
