The Teledyne FLIR Si2-PD Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera is designed for detecting, locating, classifying, and assessing partial discharge (PD) faults from up to 200 meters away. Partial discharge 30 times smaller than standard imagers can be easily identified. Partial discharge issues along with partial discharge type classification are both provided within the camera and software. The one-handed operation of the unit enables easier holding for the user. This unit includes automatic tuning, zooming capabilities of up to 8 times closer, a digital camera with 12 megabytes, and an IP54 rating. Made for enterprise scaling and coupled with fleet management functionality, managers can ensure that tools are being used and maintained properly.

The Si2-PD can be utilized for monitoring transmission or distribution conductors and components at long distances easily which can reduce the need for emergency repairs. Substation transformers can be inspected in order to detect partial discharge issues early and before they result in a dangerous and costly explosion. Pieces of high-voltage equipment can have partial discharge issues found in order to reduce public complaints of radio interference and audible noise.
