Teledyne LeCroy PP007-WR-1
Passive Probe, 10:1, 500 MHz, 2.5mm Tip (For use with WaveRunner 400 Series)
The Teledyne LeCroy PP007WR1 is a miniature high impedance Passive Probe. Its high input resistance and low capacitance make it ideal from general purpose probing of signals with frequency content from DC through several hundred MHz. The PP007-WR-1 embodies leading technology in passive probe design. This small probe is optimized for maximum waveform fidelity.

The Teledyne LeCroy PP007-WR-1 is a miniature high impedance passive probe. Its high input resistance and low capacitance make it ideal from general purpose probing of signals with frequency content from DC through several hundred MHz. The PP007-WR-1 embodies leading technology in passive probe design. The small probe is optimized for maximum waveform fidelity, including high frequency signal components, in a rugged probe suitable for every day. The sharp probe tip (rigid tip is included) is spring loaded, allowing it to retract into the narrow probe head. The tip does not slip off the object being probed — important when probing small geometry surfacemounted components. Probing dense circuits is easier with the small 2.5 mm ground sleeve, which provides much better visibility than 5 mm and 3.5 mm probes.
The input capacitance of the probe is very low for a passive probe — to minimize loading of high frequency signals. However, keeping any resonance beyond the passband also requires low inductance in the interconnections. Probes with limited interconnection accessories often force the user to extend the input or ground lead lengths to connect to the circuit — a practice that adds inductance and lowers the resonate frequency.
Passive probes are the standard probe provided with most oscilloscopes. Typical passive probes provide a 10:1 attenuation and feature a high input resistance of 10 MΩ. This high input resistance means that passive probes are the ideal tool for low frequency signals since circuit loading at these frequencies is minimized. Passive probes are designed to handle voltages of at least 400V, some as high as 600V. Teledyne LeCroy passive probes feature an attenuation sense pin which tells the oscilloscope to scale the waveforms automatically requiring no user input.
