The Desco 19791 ESD Survey Kit is used for measuring, verifying, and qualifying products for use in ESD Protected Areas. The kit includes the following instruments: Digital Surface Resistance Meter, Handheld Electrode, Ground Hub Monitor, Low Resistance Tester, Ionization Test Kit, and Training Paddle Set.

Digital Surface Resistance Meter Kit Features

Digital Surface Resistance Meter Kit
The 19791 ESD Survey Kit comes with the 19290 Digital Surface Resistance Meter Kit designed to measure resistance point-to-point (Rtt) or surface to ground (Rtg). Its test functions include a resistance range of <1 x 103 ohms to >1 x 1012 ohms, under load voltages of 10 and 100 volts ±5%, and electrification period of approximately 15 seconds. The Digital Surface Resistance Meter also measures ambient temperature and relative humidity. Up to 100 measurements may be stored and recalled from the meter's internal memory. This includes the resistance value, temperature, relative humidity and test voltage at the time of the measurement.
Ground Hub Monitor
The Desco 19203 Ground Hub Continuous Monitor confirms the integrity of the resistance path from the common ground point to electrical ground. It is designed in accordance with ESD TR 12-01 to “monitoring equipment ground connections.” When plugged into an AC outlet, the green LED illuminates when both the outlet’s wiring is correct and the path to equipment ground via the equipment grounding conductor is intact. The monitor provides 13 verified ground points when in PASS condition. The red LED illuminates when either the outlet’s wiring is incorrect or the path-to-equipment ground is defective.
Low Resistance Tester
The Desco 19249 Low Resistance Tester has three selectable test ranges to check resistance paths: <1 ohm, <2 ohms and <10 ohms. The Low Resistance Tester is equipped with pass/fail (go/no go) audio and visual indicators that activate to confirm that the grounding conductor being tested meets the required limit. It measure the resistance of grounding paths of banana jacks and other equipment.
Air Ionization Test Kit
The Desco 19443 Air Ionization Test Kit includes and utilizes the 19442 Digital Static Field Meter to measure the offset voltage (balance) and charge decay of ionization equipment. The Air Ionization Test Kit also includes a charger used to place a ±1000V charge on the conductive plate, making it possible to also measure the discharge times of air ionization equipment per ANSI/ESD SP3.3 Periodic Verification of Air Ionizers.
Training Paddle Set
The Desco ESD Training Paddles are ideal for demonstrating the creation of static charges and the functionality of ESD control products. It demonstrates several electrostatic principles including Static Electric Fields, Polarity, Field Suppression, Neutralization, Field Induction, and Field Induced Discharges. These paddles are portable and can easily generate a static electric field strength of a few kilovolts. The paddle kit consists of one insulative plate and one conductive plate; both plates are isolated with an insulative handle.
