The Elektro-Automatik PSI 9750-04 DT Single Output Programmable DC Power Supply with Function Generator, 750V/4A, 1000W offers user-friendly, interactive handling, along with an extensive set of standard features. Its configuration of output parameters and supervision features make this device both smart and comfortable to use. The supervision features for all output parameters can help to reduce test equipment and make it almost unnecessary to install external supervision hardware or software. The easy-to-read control panel - with its two knobs, one push-button, two LEDs, and the color touch panel - enables the user to easily handle this device. For the integration into semi-automatic and remotely controlled test and automation systems, the PSI 9750-04 DT offer a set of interfaces (analog and digital) on its rear side.
The EA-PSI 9750-04 DT covers a wide range of applications and uses. It is equipped with a flexible auto-ranging output stage - which provides higher output voltages at lower output currents, or higher output currents at lower output voltages - and is always limited to the adjustable power set value, or the rated power. Additional flexibility comes through the use of Power Factor Correction (PFC), which enables worldwide use on a mains input.
The user can continuously adjust current, voltage and power between 0% and 100%, either manually or remotely (analog or digital). The PSI 9750-04 DT also features a built-in, additional output filter to achieve much lower ripple (i. e. low noise on the DC output voltage). Its output terminals are located on the front side of the unit.
To protect connected equipment, the user can set an overvoltage protection threshold (OVP), as well as one for overcurrent (OCP) and overpower (OPP). As soon as one of these thresholds is reached, the unit's DC output will immediately be shut off and a status signal will be generated on the display. The PSI 9750-04 DT also features overtemperature protection (OTP), which will shut off the DC output if the device overheats.
The PSI 9750-04 DT has a rated output voltage of 750V and includes a discharge circuit for the output capacities. For no load or low load situations, it ensures that the dangerous output voltage sinks under 60 V DC after the DC output has been switched off. This value is considered the limit for voltages that are dangerous to human safety.
There is a galvanically isolated analog interface terminal, which is located on the rear of the PSI 9750-04 DT. It offers analog inputs to set voltage, current, power and resistance from 0 to 100% through control voltages of 0 V to 10 V or 0 V or 5 V. To monitor the output voltage and current, there are analog outputs with 0 V to 10 V or 0 V to 5 V. Also, several inputs and outputs are available for controlling and monitoring the device status.
Set values and actual values of output voltage, output current and output power are clearly represented on the graphic display. The PSI 9750-04 DT has an intuitive, color TFT screen that is touch sensitive and can control all of the device's functions. Set values of voltage, current, power - or simulated, internal resistance - can all be adjusted using either the rotary knobs, or entered directly via numeric pad. To prevent unintended operations, the user can lock all operation controls. The user can also change the screen's language to English, Russian, Chinese, or German.
The PSI 9750-04 DT includes a true function generator, which can generate typical functions and apply them to either the output voltage or the output current. The generator can be completely configured and controlled by using the touch panel on the front of the device, or by remote control via one of the digital interfaces. The predefined functions offer users all of the necessary parameters - such as Y offset, time/frequency or amplitude - for full configurability. In addition to standard, arbitrary generator functions, this built-in generator can create and execute complex sets of functions, separated into/up to 99 sequences. These features can be useful for testing during development and production. The sequences can be loaded from and saved to a standard USB stick, via the USB port on the front panel, making it easy to change between different test sequences.
Included with this device is control software for Windows PCs, which allows the user to remotely control multiple, identical or even different types of devices. It has a clear interface for all set and actual values, a direct input mode for SCPI and ModBus RTU commands, a firmware update feature, and semi-automatic table control ("Sequencing").
