The Fieldpiece SOX3 Programmable Oxygen Sensor Combustion Checker offers a portable, handheld unit for HVACR technicians that provides all the essential measurements for checking and tuning combustion equipment. This unit is a great tool for easily tuning furnaces when a full combustion analysis is not necessary.

The unit can measure flue temperature and oxygen percentage directly to view the calculated carbon dioxide, excess air, and efficiency percentages for condensing or non-condensing equipment. With three common fuel types as well as a custom fuel input, the SOX3 allows users to check %O2, %CO2, %EA, and %EFFICIENCY on any combustion equipment they may encounter. The custom fuel input allows for non-conventional furnaces to be just as easy to tune as conventional furnaces.

The automatic electric pump of the SOX3 forgoes the need for hand pumping. Technicians can pause the pump at any time in order to conserve battery life. The ergonomic handle and eight foot hose allow for easy flue gas measurements. To perform hands-free operation, the magnetic strap and barrel lock can be used. To keep the unit up and running for longer, the oxygen sensor can be easily replaced in the field by the user themselves. With the calibration data stored on the sensor, it can be swapped out in seconds and does not require the instrument to be sent in for calibration.
