The Megger BITE5-ADV Advanced Battery Impedance Tester tests lead acid batteries, NiCD batteries, and lithium-ion batteries. The instrument will measure and record battery voltage, impedance, temperature, and inter-cell connections. Discharge testing is also supported in which voltage, current, impedance, and temperature throughout the discharge cycle will be measured.

Details

The Megger BITE5-ADV Advanced Battery Impedance Tester tests lead acid batteries, NiCD batteries, and lithium-ion batteries. The instrument will measure and record battery voltage, impedance, temperature, and inter-cell connections. Discharge testing is supported by the BITE5-ADV in which it will measure the voltage, current, impedance, and temperature throughout the discharge cycle.

Battery Impedance Testing

The BITE5-ADV will measure cell impedance, cell voltage, temperature, and inter-cell connections or straps. The recorded data can be trended on the unit's screen. Users can view the trended data of each test or trend the data of each cell. Pass, warning, and fail limits can be set for voltage, impedance, and straps. Users can also record the ripple voltage, voltage current, and float current, then transfer the recorded data via USB or SD card to the PowerDB software to create custom reports and automated analysis.

Measure Impedance on Modules up to 500V

New chemistries and applications mean higher voltage battery modules are becoming more common. The BITE5ADV can test modules up to 500 volts DC.

Measure Inter-Cell Resistance

Using a higher test current, the BITE5-ADV accurately measures inter-cell (strap) resistance. This capability helps users identify poor or corroded connections.

Battery Discharge Testing

The BITE5-ADV will record voltage, DC current, impedance, and temperature of each cell throughout the entire discharge test. Users can measure the average impedance at the end of the commissioning test and use this as a limit for future impedance tests. Trend the recorded data on the BITE5-ADV's touch screen and view the trended data of each test, or trend the discharge of each cell.

Parallel Strings

The BITE5-ADV can test and troubleshoot parallel strings without the need for segmentation. The RFID tag reader allows for rapid battery identification without manually entering data.

Recharge Monitoring

The BITE5-ADV will trend the discharge or recharge of a complete string.

Touch Screen Setup and Data Trending

With the touch screen on the BITE5-ADV, users can review data immediately for evaluating individual cells or trending string data and cell performance. Get answers on the spot, make any needed repairs, and re-test to verify the repairs all in a single trip to the site without transferring or printing data.
