The Testo 890 TWO LENS KIT 3 Thermal Imager Kit provides users with the 890 Thermal Imager along with a single 25° x 19° objective lens and 15° x 11° objective lens. The 25° x 19° lens is ideal for use in applications involving preventive maintenance while the 15° x 11° telephoto lens makes it possible to take higher-quality images of measurement objects at medium or longer distances. The lens will be protected against dust and scratches with the inclusion of the protective lens cover while the added high-temperature filter expands the camera's temperature measurement range up to 2192°F (1200°C). Users can quickly recharge the camera's li-ion batteries with the dual-bay fast charger. With the process analysis package, the image sequence capturing and fully radiometric video measurement allows for thermal processes to be recorded, streamed to the user's PC, and analyzed as time progresses.

The 890 Thermal Imager offers high image quality for the highest thermographic demands. Due to the high-quality infrared measurement system with a 640 x 480 pixel detector, thermal images can be recorded in megapixel quality (1290 x 960 pixel) using the SuperResolution technology. Even the smallest measurement objects, such as electronic components, or far distant measurement objects, such as industrial plants, can be safely recorded thermographically in the best image quality and high resolution. Thermal processes can be precisely analyzed over time using the fully radiometric video measurement. All measurement points of the thermal image are available, accurate down to the pixel, at all times.

The 890 allows users to be equipped both for professional industrial thermography and for building thermography. Users can inspect voltage systems or perform high-temperature measurement, circuit board analysis, control of solar plants, complete building shell thermography, and building thermography for energy consultancy.

Applications

Professional Building Analysis

When more than a simple thermogram of a window frame is required, the 890 Thermal Imager is the right measuring instrument for the job. The imager grants users a detailed view of the object both indoors and outdoors, allowing more precise insights into the exact status. Due to the instrument's flexibility, the 890 does this even when the building is too high, the roof angle is too low, or the front is too large.

Industrial Maintenance

The objective of preventive maintenance is not to wait until systems break down, but to ensure that they work smoothly. In order to accomplish this efficiently, inspections (and their documentation) must take as little time as possible, but also guarantee that even the smallest anomalies are identified reliably. The 890 Thermal Imager enables users to do just this, becoming an indispensable companion on inspection tours.

Research and Development

Within research and development applications, the 890 Thermal Imager helps users answer some fundamental questions. Do all components of a new development comply with the specifications? Are heat transfer and cooling working as they should? Are all temperature limit values adhered to? These are only three of many different applications in which the 890 ideally supports users. Users can also utilize the instrument in product development as well as in fundamental research.

Process Analysis Package

The process analysis package consists of the fully radiometric video measurement and the image sequence capturing directly in the 890 Thermal Imager. This allows users to record and store image sequences directly on-site without the need for connection to a PC along with analyzing them in the Testo IRSoft analysis software.

Image Sequence Capturing

Due to the image sequencing capturing, users can record temperature developments at certain freely selectable intervals directly in the 890 Thermal Imager and save them either as a fully radiometric video (.vmt) or as a sequence of thermal images (.bmt) with the corresponding optional real images. The smallest interval is three seconds with the longest being one hour and 59 seconds. Up to 1170 thermal images can be stored within the imager, depending upon the format selected. For applications with the image sequence capturing, the imager has a synchronized automatic shutter which means that an internal adjustment always takes place at the right time before recording an image. This means that an optimal image quality is always achieved even in very long recordings.

The recording of image sequences can be started in various ways. Users can start recording manually in order to begin recording immediately, after a limit violation in order to check that it is being adhered to, or by a countdown in order to begin after a certain time.

Fully Radiometric Video Measurement

With the fully radiometric video measurement, users have the possibility of streaming radiometric measurement data by up to 25 Hz into the Testo IRSoft analysis software in online measurement and of recording sequences. All changes are immediately visible in the thermal image, even in fast moving processes. The video measurement ability offers the option of controlling the imager remotely. Individual images can be saved by remote trigger as thermal images or as .jpeg files.

Stored videos and sequences which have been previously recorded in the imager can clearly be analyzed. For this purpose, the Testo IRSoft analysis software offers useful functions. Users can set up to 15 measurement points which can be presented as a temperature-time diagram. Up to five profile lines can be set in order to examine the temperature profile of measurement objects. With the automatic hot and cold spot recognition, users can identify conspicuous temperature values immediately.

IRSoft Analysis Software

Thermography at the highest level needs more than just a modern imager system. A high-performance analysis software is also crucial in order to quickly and easily analyze and evaluate recorded images along with presenting them to customers professionally. The high-performance Testo IRSoft analysis software was specially developed for these requirements. This software offers comprehensive analysis functions, an intuitive operation, and a high level of user-friendliness.

Creating and Individually Adapting Reports

The report designer integrated into the IRSoft software offers a broad selection of different templates that users can select from for their report at hand. Whether brief and to the point, or comprehensive and detailed, users are guided through the creation step-by-step and can select which information should be used. A report template according to DIN EN 13187 is available to users specifically for the analysis of building shells for thermal bridges. All reports can be saved as a .pdf, .rtf, or Testo's own .tir file format.
